Take Fit 4 Health welcomes all beings regardless of color, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and ability. We create a safe space and welcome anyone that wants to practice. The yoga classes are accessible to any student and with props we can adapt the practice to suit your needs.
I welcome all students to share in the knowledge of self-care and to be a student of their own body. If you are new to movement please consider an initial private yoga session to help you assess which classes will be most beneficial for you as you begin your journey.
Remember that although yoga can be for everyone, it is up to you as an individual to assess whether you are ready for the class that you have chosen. If you suffer from a specific injury or are managing a condition please remember it is your responsibility to decide if you should practice. If you feel pain or discomfort please stop.
It all started after my children were born and sleeping through the night, but I was wide awake. I decided to try yoga, meditation, and Tai Chi to help me calm my busy mind. I met privately with a hatha yoga teacher to help me choose specific poses and breathing practices to release distracting thoughts so I could relax and sleep.
This ancient practice was so beneficial to me that I wanted to share with others to navigate obstacles such as insomnia, chronic pain, or grief. No matter how young or old we all have times in our lives when things get difficult. Yoga is always available, if not a physical practice, then breath and meditation will help you through the tough spots. A little movement each day will get you stronger and reduce chronic pain. Rather than struggling to fit your body into poses we learn to adapt the pose to work for our bodies. I turn to my personal practice every time I need support with pain, stress, or anything else to help me feel better in my body and mind. Life is full of twists and turns and yoga allows you the freedom to sit back, relax and take the ride.
